Divorce

When your marriage is breaking up, we can help identify and explain the family structure, financial, legal, and procedural issues you will encounter in a dissolution of marriage. We will work with you to achieve an uncontested divorce or to be your advisor and advocate in a contested divorce. More than 40 years of helping people through a divorce have given us the experience, knowledge, understanding, and advocacy skills to adapt our legal representation according to the needs of each individual case — whether preparing paperwork for an uncontested divorce or dealing with a difficult nasty divorce.

Parent-Child Relationship

The issues of child custodyparenting time, and child support can occur in a divorce, paternity, modification, stepparent rights, or grandparent rights case. Be informed of your options before you make a decision that may have an irreversible impact on you and/or your children for the rest of your lives.

Elder Law

As members of your family reach their advanced years, legal problems of the elderly may occur. Health problems, dementia, difficulties managing financial resources, and family conflict can have an irreversible impact on vulnerable older family members.  An elder law attorney can help formulate a plan for the vulnerable person and his/her family. The plan may include a Power of AttorneyMedical Advance DirectiveTrust Agreement, Guardianship, Conservatorship, and/or long-term care with Medicaid.

Larry K Gray & Associates, PC welcomes clients from within and outside the State of Oregon who needs to investigate, review documents, obtain advice, and/or manage the personal condition and financial affairs of a disabled and/or elderly family member within Yamhill County, Washington County, Clackamas County, Marion County, and Polk County, in the State of Oregon.  We will make efforts to accommodate and assist you with the legal difficulties associated with helping a disabled and/or elderly spouse, child, parent, father, mother, brother, sister, grandfather, grandmother, or other family member living with you or living a long-distance away.

Estate Planning | Wills | Trusts

The United States has experienced unprecedented prosperity in the last 70  years. The 1930's depression-era generation and their post World War II baby boomer children have acquired wealth which will be transferred to the next generations. Estate planning for the small estate or larger estate can help avoid legal complications in accomplishing this transfer of wealth.

The facts of each case will determine the objectives of the estate plan and will also determine the appropriate planning approaches - co-ownership of assets with rights of survivorship, designation of beneficiaries, transfer on death designations, Last Will and Testaments, Testamentary Trusts, Revocable Living Trusts, Special Needs Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts, gifts, or a combination thereof. The objectives of the Estate Plan may include ease and convenience of lifetime management, insuring desired distribution to intended heirs, avoiding probate, and/or reducing estate taxes.

Decedent’s Estate

Upon the death of a family member, loved one, and/or significant person in your life, what needs to be done to wind-up the financial affairs of the deceased?  Can the assets within the estate be distributed to the heirs without Probate? Does the Estate qualify for a less costly Small Estate Affidavit procedure? If judicial Probate is necessary, how do you get started and what is the legal procedure? Administration of an Estate can include legal issues in many different areas of law, such as elder law, trust law, real estate law, landlord-tenant law, insurance law, family law, contract law, business law, corporate law, debtor-creditor law, Federal and State tax law, and/or civil litigation.

Take advantage of a free initial 30-minute consultation regarding the Probate of an Estate or a Small Estate Affidavit. Our preference is to arrange an in-office initial attorney consultation, but will gladly make arrangements for an initial 30-minute telephone conversation with an attorney. Either way, the first 30 minutes will be free.

Larry K. Gray & Associates, PC welcomes clients from within and outside the State of Oregon who needs to investigate, manage, or wind-up a deceased family member’s Estate, Family Trust, or Probate related issue within Yamhill County, Washington County, Clackamas County,  Hood River County, Wasco County, Deschutes County, Jefferson County, Columbia County, Clatsop County, Marion County, Polk County, Linn County, Benton County, Lane County, or Tillamook County, in the State of Oregon. We will make efforts to accommodate and assist with the difficulties associated with handling an Estate from a long distance.

Real Estate

For many people, the purchase of real estate will be the largest financial transaction in their lives. The laws and potential legal issues regarding real estate are some of the most complex, convoluted issues in our legal system. Legal issues can be encountered in the selling or buying of real property, the conflicting claims of ownership or use the rights and obligations of co-owners, the leasing of residential or commercial real property, the scope of an easement use, or the property line dispute with a neighbor.

Business

If starting and owning your own business is your dream, your dream can come true. To implement your dream, what is the best organizational form for your small or family business - sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, or limited liability company? Each form of business has benefits and drawbacks. Some of the factors to be considered are ease of management, potential liabilities of the owner, and tax implications.
